Welterweight CD Release at Blue

Welterweight announces the release of "A Vida Blue Moon", the first full-length by the current “strings’n wood” band lineup. The 11 songs cover the familiar territory of the sad-mad-glad trinity, and you can pick up a copy for nearly nothing at the show.

What’s a Vida Blue Moon, you ask? The 1970’s Oakland A’s contained two of the coolest, baddest characters of the culture, Vida Blue and Johnny Lee “Blue Moon” Odom. As a kid I was infatuated…was it the attitude, racial wondering, the actual blue gloves they wore? Not sure, but I just wanted them back in my life, so they became a Vida Blue Moon that I could sing. A cheap device, maybe, but just imagine the dreams you would have under that…
